The artist of the 3rd quarter of 2011 goes to Lynn Patti!
Let your eyes swoop and dance across the surface; react to the play of colors. Those are my intentions when you look at these works. I am fascinated with colors and love to use them in all their possible combinations. They create an in and out effect on the surface, they bump into one another and create depth on a flat surface. I like to hint at realism occasionally, but love to work abstractly; starting on each journey without knowing where I will end up.
Using a variety of media-acrylics, watercolors, colored pencils, fabric and paper collage, has kept me occupied for many years now. I retired from teaching art in the Waterloo Middle School in 1997. Association with the Seneca County Arts Council has given an outlet for much of the work I've done since then. I've also been associated with the Seneca Community Players and have helped to design and decorate their sets.
I hold a B S. and M.S. degree in Art Education from the State University of Buffalo.
